I’m excited to share the strawberry banana probiotic superfood smoothie recipe with chia seed – a delicious and good-for-you recipe for energy, nutrition, and improved digestion to make you feel great!* I have always loved smoothies, but didn’t realize the range of powerful nutrients you can add to give your smoothie a much-needed boost, like superfood chia seeds and, of course, probiotics. My favorite smoothie recipe used to be just a normal strawberry smoothie made using ice. (Anytime I make a smoothie using fresh fruits, I use ice rather than water, coconut milk, or almond milk because I like it to be cold and slushy!).
Smoothies are an awesome way to get your daily nutrients, but it’s tough to get all the necessary nutrition to stay energized throughout the day with just fruit. So in addition to the strawberries I love, I’ve added a few delicious superfood ingredients, including GoodBelly probiotics, to create this refreshing smoothie recipe a nutritional powerhouse as well.
Strawberry Banana Probiotic Superfood Smoothie Recipe with Chia Seed
A strawberry smoothie recipe with all sorts of yummy nutrients is one of my favorite things to have for breakfast or lunch. I love making my own smoothies at home, because I can add whatever ingredients I want to suit my taste and nutritional needs! I like to add chia seeds because they’re rich in omega-3, protein, antioxidants, and fiber. Coconut oil is also an awesome superfood ingredient with excellent health benefits that help boost energy, strengthen the immune system, and boost mineral absorption – to name a few. Plus, they always seem to complement just about any smoothie recipe I make.
Strawberry Banana Probiotic Superfood Smoothie Recipe with Chia Seed
I usually add 1 cup of strawberries to my smoothie recipe, but I can always count on my daughter, Mattie, to want about 18 servings of whatever I make, so it’s always good to add a few extra just in case. I’ll leave that up to you!
- 1 GoodBelly PlusShot (or GoodBelly StraightShot with no added sugar!)
- 1 peeled banana
- 1-2 cup strawberries
- 2 teaspoons chia seeds (soaked)
- 1 cup ice (water, almond milk and coconut milk work too)
- 1-2 tablespoons coconut oil
- ½ tablespoon honey (optional if you would like to sweeten it up)
Let’s get started mixing this smoothie recipe!
- Soak your chia seeds in water for about 15 minutes. For added flavor, soak the seeds in almond milk, whole milk, coconut milk, or just about any liquid you like. This will prevent the seeds from soaking up all the liquid in your smoothie.
- Once your chia seeds have soaked for 15 minutes, place all ingredients, with the exception of the coconut oil, into a high-speed blender. Blend for about 30 seconds until smooth.
- Add coconut oil by drizzling into the blender and blend for another 5 seconds to keep the smoothie from clumping.
