I hope you read our first post for Sleep Number – Sleep Deprivation: 8 Reasons You Should Get Enough Sleep. If not I’m sure you already have a good idea how important sleep is to both our mental and physical health as well as our sanity, lol.
Our brain uses more energy than any organ in our entire body, of course our brain needs sleep to properly function. If you’re not getting enough sleep, chances are your brain isn’t running at it’s best. I know, I’m guilty of not sleeping enough all the time and on the days I’m lacking sleep I can feel it in my body and mind. I normally sharp and on top of things, but when I’m lacking sleep it’s a whole different story. I tend to be forgetful and sluggish. Umm, did I mention I’m forgetful?
Better Sleep in May
Since it’s almost May I’m going to make a commitment to get Better Sleep in May and enter the #CommitToSleepSweeps. My commitment is to take advantage of the daylight hours as much as possible so I don’t get stuck working in the middle of the night. Since research says it takes 30 days to break a bad habit, it’s the perfect time to make my commitment in honor of Better Sleep Month in May. I’m also going to attempt tracking my sleep, at least to find out what time I’m actually going to bed and waking up each day so I know how many hours of sleep I’m getting. I’m also going to schedule my days so I’m done with everything by 10pm – I can do it!
Sleep Number is asking you to share ways you plan to sleep better. I’d really love to get my hands on a Sleep Number bed with SleepIQ® technology so I can learn more about the way I sleep and things I can do to help myself sleep better.
See the Sleep Number SleepIQ® technology helps you measure things like your bed presence, movement, breathing rate and heart rate. It helps show the quality of sleep you’re getting and even identifies things you may be doing to affect your sleep. Having a Sleep Number bed with SleepIQ® technology can take your sleep to the next level by tracking and actually learning about the way you sleep – nothing to wear, nothing to turn on. I’m also going to toss it in that I want a Sleep Number bed with DualAir™ technology that I can raise it into the sitting position when the little one comes.
