Celebrating National Soyfoods Month with a Berry Tofu Smoothie

Happy National SoyFoods Month!  In celebration of National Soyfoods Month, I wanted to share this fabulous Berry Tofu Smoothie recipe!  It’s super yummy and perfect for breakfast, lunch, snacks, or even post workout.

I just love tofu; it’s amazing, and you can do so many different things with it.  Seriously, did you know that tofu is made with a calcium based coagulants which can be a great source of calcium.  Tofu is also a great source of protein, iron and even contains essential amino acids to help reduce our risk of heart disease.  That’s not it either, it can have B vitamins, minerals, and even more vitamins.  To get the exact amounts you’ll need to check the packaging.

Celebrating National Soyfoods Month with a Berry Tofu Smoothie

Have you ever tried a Berry Tofu Smoothie?  I’m not going to lie the first time I heard about it I didn’t want anything to do with it.  Beats and tofu, alone, together it sounded even worse but sometimes you just have to suck it up and give things a try and every so often you’ll be surprised how good something taste.  Once you get the nutritional value and understand what something is doing for your body, it often makes things taste even better.

Berry Tofu Smoothie Recipe

You’ll need the following ingredients to make the tofu smoothie:

  • ½ package of House Foods Premium Organic Tofu (soft)
  • 1 cup blueberries
  • 1 cup raspberries
  • 1 to 2 tablespoons honey (I put more shhh)
  • ½ cup of ice

Let’s make this yummy smoothie:

  • To make the tofu smoothie simply add all the ingredients into a blender and blend until you reach the desired texture.  If you want it a bit thicker, you can always add more ice, but only add extra ice about ¼ cup at a time.

Enjoy your smoothie; it’s loaded with all sorts of goodness!!

Next order I’ll be ordering some Cranberry SoyJoy Bars.

I’m so curious how this smoothie tastes since I’ve never thought tofu could be in smoothies. But it sounds so healthy.

This sounds absolutely delicious! And look how pretty it is. My girls love berry smoothies. Another good alternative to soy is hydrolyzed collagen. Has so many great amino acids, vitamins and pure protien. It’s tasteless too! Thanks for sharing!
