Florida is one of my favorite places to visit any time of the year because there is so much to see and do, especially places like Gulf County Florida. I love nature, breathing the fresh air, and enjoying time with my family and Gulf County Florida is the perfect place for a family vacation this fall.
9 Things To Do In Gulf County Florida This Fall
If you’re looking for somewhere to take the family this fall here are a few of our favorite things to do in Gulf County Florida this fall to get you started.
1.) Fall Fishing – I love fishing, it’s a great way to relax and spend time bonding with the family. Did I mention relax? Fall fishing is great because the weather isn’t as warm, and fish tend to go deeper into the water the warmer the weather gets. Which makes fall a great time to go fishing! 2.) Turtle Treasure Hunt – Have you ever thought about a Turtle Treasure Hunt? Look for signs of nesting and even take part in protecting the loggerhead turtles. Nests look like a big disturbed area of sand; the moms do an excellent job hiding the nests.
3.) Shark Fishing – Who doesn’t want to go on a three-hour shark fishing trip with Fish ‘N Xpress with all equipment, licenses and bait included? Jump on a 60 ft. Passenger boat that leaves at about 5 pm and doesn’t get back until about 8 pm, it’s safe for kids and sounds like fun for everyone. Don’t forget to have your picture taken and release your shark back into the ocean at the end of your trip. 4.) Kayak Thought the Dead Lakes – My husband and I want to Kayak through the Dead Lakes. Did you know they got their name from the Cypress and Tupelo trees that stand in the water? You can see the stumps rising out of the swamp when the water is low, it’s awesome. I would love to paddle around in the shallows of the South Flats. Be sure to check it out in the early morning hours, when the fog comes off the water, the birds are coming into the nest, and the other critters are out and about.
5.) Dolphins – I love dolphins, they are such beautiful creatures, be sure to wake up early and try to catch them playing near the shore. 6.) Horseback Riding on the Beach – I love horses but have always been riding out in the country. We’ve visited Florida several times and I still have not been riding on the beach, but I will one day soon. Can you imagine going for a ride in the early evening and watching the sun go down? It sounds like the perfect fall activity for anyone – family, honeymooner, friends, or even spending some time alone.
7.) Snorkeling, Paddleboarding, and Snuba Diving – You can’t be close to the water and not go snorkeling, snuba diving, and/or paddleboarding. Both are great activities for the whole family. You can even rent a charter boat to go snuba diving, which allows you to dive with air, but without the tank, and there is not any certification needed to snuba dive.
8.) Hike – Do you love the great outdoors and experiencing nature? You might want to consider heading for St. Joseph Peninsula State Park! There is plenty to enjoy, especially if you love wildlife – raccoons, Great Horn Owl, otters, deer, and more. 9.) Sunrise – Watching the sunrise is breathtaking. It’s defiantly worth waking everyone up early. You can even make an early breakfast and sit outside watching the sunrise together. Sounds like the perfect way to start the day if you ask me. 10.) Sunset – I can’t think of a time my husband and I have visited Florida and not watched the sunset close to the water. It’s breathtaking, and something everyone should experience at least once.
I don’t know if I can choose only one of these adventures. I know without a doubt when I visit Gulf Country Florida I’ll want to try paddleboarding and riding horses on the beach.
If you’re looking for fun things to do in Florida this fall be sure to check out Gulf County, it’s the perfect family vacation destination because there is something for everyone to enjoy. Florida is fun, but I’ve never been to the Gulf Coast. Thanks for the post!
Florida is beautiful always wanted to go to florida
Bet it’s pretty warm in Florida now, unlike autumn at the 45th parallel north where I live (it’s just raining for so long…..)
My daughters and I love the beach and all involved with the beach. This is the first summer we haven’t been able to fit in a trip and we are missing that. But there’s always spring break 2016.
I entered the giveaway and can always use an extra $50. Thanks.
I love Pennsacola and clear Water. They are trips.
