A mother is an absolutely amazing person and we are all blessed to have them in our lives, even when they don’t fall into the traditional idea of a Mom. Mother’s Day is coming up and I’m excited to give a gift that was provided by Out Of The Box Custom Handmade Gifts. It’s a shadow box that expresses just how amazing my mother is with a beautiful, custom, and creative shadow box. There are so many reasons why Mom is absolutely amazing and celebrating Mothers just one day doesn’t seem like nearly enough.
There are also so many reasons that make mothers truly amazing. They seem to be impervious to anger, can balance everything with just two hands, and can manage to take away pain with a single touch. I sat down and wrote a list of everything reason I am grateful for my mother. I don’t have enough pen and paper to write it all, but with limited space, here are some reasons that Moms are absolutely amazing.
- She always has my back
Everyone has that someone they can go to for support. For me, and any of you reading, that person is Mom. Anything I do in life, she is right behind e rooting for me. All decisions I make, whether good or bad, she finds the positive aspect to focus on. Like every mother, She wants the absolute best for me. She will always be by my side through thick and thin. Not a lot of other people are willing to stick with us when no one else would. Part of the shadow box from Out of the Box Creations were hearts that I, my sister, and my nieces decorated. I decorated one with a yellow lily, because that flower always reminds me of my mother and the bright outlook she has on life. It definitely expressed what I couldn’t find the words to say.
- She is a superhero
Moms have the ability to do anything. They can get rid of boo boos, defeat the boogie man, and make sure Santa doesn’t forget to make it to our house. Mothers can juggle homework, housework, and dinner all while lugging a toddler latched to her leg. She can kiss an injury and immediately cut the pain. I used to be afraid of La Llorona, those of you who know of her understand, if not, I suggest you look her up. I was terrified that La Llorona was going to come and take me. So, one night she told me to face my fears, sleep outside alone with the dogs, and she would watch out the window for me all night. Just knowing she was there, crazy as it seems, stopped my fears altogether. Now, that is an awesome super power!
- She is an awesome cook
Now that I’m an adult and prepare all my own meals, I am so thankful for my mother. Every night, I cook for my nieces, nephew, sister and brother-in-law and whoever decides to come over. It gets hard to come up with something new and different for each meal. Luckily, I had my mother as my meal-time mentor. She taught me so many recipes and a lot of fun ways to repurpose left overs. She had to feed a family of five, some of us pickier than others. She was creative and clever in what she cooked to feed us nutritious meals. She also taught me to cater to no one unless I had to. What I make is what’s for dinner. If you don’t like it, want to complain about it, or ask for something else, then you can bet you are not going to eat. I don’t starve my dinner guests, but I also don’t put up with childish behavior. Thanks Mama!
- She is kind and open-minded
My mother taught me a lot about how to treat people. She believed in the idea of Karma and the Golden rule. You know, “Treat other how you would want to be treated.” She taught us kindness and understanding. She led us not to judge others and to help anyone in need. If we could help someone, and no harm came from it, we should aid any way we can. From holding the door for someone or giving up your seat for another person, treat others with respect. She also asked that we stay open-minded to others because we never know what we could learn.
- She isn’t always Mom
I thank God every day for my mother, AND for all the other people in my life that were like Mothers as well. Growing up, we were really close with our Aunt. She always came to visit, brought gifts, showed up at school events and always remembered our birthdays. She helped me when I was young and up to my graduation from high school and into college. She was there to hear my fears, dry my tears, listen to my complaints, and calm my rants. Sh always gave great advice to keep me motivated and she looks at life with determination. Sh always assured me that the world was mine for the taking. I have the most amazing mother and was blessed with an amazing Aunt too.
With so many reasons that denote my Mother’s awesomeness, it makes sense that she deserves a great gift. Out Of The Box Creations created a personalized and custom shadow box for my mother. They sent 9 heart cut outs that my sister, nieces, and I decorated for my Mother. With all of our own personal touches added to the decorative gift, it will be perfect to give to her for Mother’s Day.
Out Of The Box Creations also sent two other gifts. One for my Aunt Nancy, which is a photo frame edged with 12 phrases and words that we came up with to describe her. It is perfect for her because we came up with all the descriptive words and she absolutely loves photos. My siblings and I took a picture together to put inside and send to her for Mother’s Day as well.
They also sent a shadow box for my Dad to give for Father’s Day. It’s a description of Pa as seen by my niece and it is quite interesting. They are all wonderfully made products and such a creative and innovative idea. I can’t wait to try all the other products that they offer. There is something for everyone and for every occasion. Be sure to check out their website, Outoftheboxshop.com and take a look for yourself at all they have to offer. And let’s celebrate the amazing Mothers in our lives!
