Summer has come and gone once again. Autumn is beginning and leads into Winter. We all know that means; holidays, family gatherings, and traveling. A lot like summer, it is important to travel safely and comfortably. Staying in a hotel gets expensive so it’s always great to find a place to stay. It is great to stay with family and friends, but usually there is limited space, especially traveling with kids. The Kid-O-Bunk travel sleep beds are a great fix for you when you reach your destination. Here is more on this space/time/sanity saving sleeper and 5 tips to make traveling with kids easier.
- Packing
In our family, there’s a lot of us so it’s important to pack smart. That’s when clever packing comes to the rescue.
Make a list of everything you’ll need. Review that list a few times, marking off things that aren’t essential to the trip. For example, if you’re staying with family or friends, a swimsuit isn’t necessary (unless they have a pool, but it’s autumn… I doubt you’ll need it.)
Roll all your clothing instead of folding, it saves so much space! Lastly, stow hair brushes, deodorant, and other dry toiletries in your shoes and liquid items in plastic bags to avoid spills!
- Driving
This is for the driver and co-pilot.
Before hitting the road, map out your route on an atlas or online map. Mark all the stops you’ll make, turns and exits, and always track the weather as well. Planning out your route and anticipating the weather keeps the family safe and avoids any unwanted detours.
Make a fun mix tape the whole family can enjoy and audio books full of funny stories keep everyone occupied and help the time pass.
- Riding
Being a passenger on a long trip can be pretty treacherous.
Dress comfortably in layers because it is impossible to keep the temperature in the car at a comfortable degree for everyone. Plus, when you need extra cushion for a nap, you can use that sweater your son got too warm to wear. It saves space in luggage and keeps 20,000 pillows from finding their way into the car.
Keep snacks and drinks on hand with plenty of napkins and tissues. No one wants to travel with sticky hands, cheesy fingers, or any other “goo” that can show up.
- Sleeping
Enter the Kid-O-Bunk!
This dual purpose bunk bed is great for staying with Grandma and Pa, camping, a hotel, or even just popping it open in the living room. It uses patented lock-in discs that snap and lock into place, so no tools are needed to set them up.
They are versatile and can go from a stack-able bunk to two single cots or a sitting bench.
It is collapsible and packs down into its own zipper bag that is easy to pack along with the rest of the smartly packed luggage.
The Kid-O-Bunk comes with matching side organizers for added comforts.
Also, don’t worry because they are made to conform to a kid’s body.It is made of hygienic, machine-washable polyester material for easy cleaning. If that is a comfort, I don’t know what is!
- Entertaining
You made it! Now what?
Use the Kid-O-Bunk to make a fort and tell ghost stories.
Use the cots as props for your own play.
Use it as some extra sleeping space for your furry friends.
Use it as a bench with some TV trays for dinner and a movie.
Use it for sleeping in warm, cozy blankets and the aroma of pancakes and bacon to wake you!

Great tips! If only these were available when my brother and I were kids. OMG…..we made my dad crazy, chanting SPEED LIMIT 60, SPEED LIMIT 60, every time we saw the sign – like every 5 minutes. How many times did he pull over and smack us into silence! All my mother could do was offer gum.
