My kids are so funny! They love camping, and when dad and I are not able to take them camping they have their own adventures. I recently received this huge package, with something really cool inside, and guess what? My two younger girls did not even blink an eye, nor did they ask what was inside the box. They were already plotting how they were going to use this huge box. They wanted to turn it into a tent of some kinds, and go for a camping adventure in the front yard. NO, I am not kidding at all. I told my kids not long ago, rather than Christmas presents I was going to just get them a few big boxes.
Needless to say, I didn’t let them camp in the front yard inside a box. Better than that I let them sleep in the backyard. Yes, we have a 7 foot privacy fence, and three big, mean dogs, that will attack someone if they mess with the kids. Those are their kids, and nobody, I mean nobody will hurt them if they have anything to say about it. Okay, that and dad and I were up late and knew they wouldn’t last all night. I think it was about 9pm and they were coming in the house. They said they were cold, but I know the truth. They heard their father and I outside talking and started to get scared. Which is totally okay by me, but I still give my 15-year-old daughter a hard time about being cold when it’s still 90 degrees outside. Oh, see you thought I let the little ones sleep outside alone. NO WAY! The deal was, only if their big sister would. Regardless they were inside by 9pm, because it was “cold”.
What’s Better Than Camping In A Huge Box? Camping in one of Kidco’s PeaPods Plus Travel Tents!
If you are wondering where I am headed with this camping in a box story, let me just tell you seeing three kids smashed inside a KidCo PeaPod travel bed is priceless. No they were not camping, just breaking in Maddie’s new KidCo Travel Tent. Once I could stop laughing I made the two older girls get out of their little sister’s new PeaPod from KidCo. If you have not seen them they are awesome, and my youngest daughter loves her so much. Anymore it’s the only way I can get her to take a nap during the day. She takes her juice, sandwich bag filled with gold-fish, blanket, and pillow and heads for her PeaPod Plus for a movies watching camping adventure.
Before we get started on our PeaPod Plus Review, if you are not familiar with KidCo, they rock! Let me tell you why!
I have been a fan of KidCo products since I had little ones. They were incorporated in 1992, and offer an assortment of products to keep the kids safe like cabinet locks, latches, bed rails, anti-tip straps for furniture, foam corner protectors, stove guards, appliance locks, a variety of door and window locks, outlet covers, the awesome PeaPod, and more great products. Oh, I almost forgot they also have an awesome non-electric food processor that’s pretty awesome.
WOW Mom a KidCo Travel Tent Is Way Better Than Camping In A Box!
When we first received our KidCo Plus Travel Tent and my youngest daughter Maddie realized what it was, she was putty in my hands. So you better belive I made her take pictures lol. Tell me that little face doesn’t tell you how happy she was to have her very own tent that she could play with in the house, take with her on the road, and act like she is brave enough to go on a camping adventure in the backyard!
The PeaPod Travel Bed is a convenient travel bed for kids from 1 to 5 years of age. It works great around the house, as well as on the road. It’s lightweight, easy to fold up and put away, and it takes up very little space. The PeaPod Plus P4010 offers a mesh surrounding that provides increased air flow, and the large front zipper panel makes it sure easy for the kids to open and close. Inside the travel tent is a Micro-Lite sleeping pad that comes secured by snaps to the outer bottom travel bed.
The PeaPod Plus is great, it looks and worked just like a normal tent. You will notice great features like the UV protection, adjustable sun screens, inner mesh panel with zipper to keep all the kitties, or bugs out lol. There is also anchor straps, not to mention when it’s folded up in its handy carrying case you can take it anywhere. It’s awesome for traveling, a night at uncle’s house, or a mini vacation to grandma’s house. I’m sure you can see it’s a nice bright color, that way you don’t lose it like you would a camo tent. Seriously, there is nothing I hate more than camping in a camo tent, and not being able to find it. No, that’s never happened to me, or has it?
When I have someone babysit my daughter I have to send her PeaPod Plus Travel Bed, or she will NOT take a nap. I have taken my daughters PeaPod on one mini-vacation to grandmas a few hours away. I was hoping it would help make Maddie more comfortable since we do not leave home often without her daddy, and she typically does not sleep well at night unless she starts out the night in her bed. Surprisingly she did not have any problem falling asleep. She grabbed her juice, blanket, pillow, just like she would for a nap at home. Before I knew it she was sound asleep. She did wake up and get in bed with me, but she does that at home when she sleeps in her bed.
The PeaPod Plus comes fully assembled, and is super easy to fold up and put back into the storage bag. The storage bag has convenient handles for traveling. This is a great investment for any little camper or traveler who knows how to have fun, and camp in style. Don’t worry your toddler will love it too, lol. Yes, it’s been an adventure for me as a parent too. When the other kids are at school, my daughter and I often play this camping game. There are bears, big dogs, and spooky spiders. It makes me sad that I cannot fit in the tent, and that my head is too small to fit in her adventure time hat… However, I can use her binoculars, so that’s always cool. She lets me be on lookout sometimes! Which means I get to stand on the couch and tell her I see a bear so she can rush into her tent, zip it up, and tell me to run. GOSH, see how it is. Feed me to the imaginary bears kid! She better wait, if I ever find my camo tent I am not going to let her come in. She can be on lookout!
We are not old until we let ourselves, my kids keep me young, and we love our PeaPod Plus P4010!
This is a quality travel tent. Not only does my youngest daughter use it daily for her naps, but like I mentioned earlier all three of my kids were in this thing at one time. That a big old teen ager, a six-year-old, and my poor little Mattie screaming at her big sisters to get out of her tent. Yes, somehow they all managed to fit. Not to mention Vayda was still able to easily zip it closed as promised by KidCo. I took a picture to prove it. You might not be able to see all of them, but they are in there somewhere. I’m sure you can tell they are pretty smashed in there. So if this tent can stand up to my kids, be put up and taken out daily, as well as go along with Mattie anytime she will be taking a nap away from home, and still be in perfect condition its a quality product without a doubt in my mind.
OH LOOK, I wasn’t going to mention the time they kids had Noodles our Rottweiler in there because I couldn’t find the picture. Lookie at what I found! It’s the picture of Noodles and my 6-year-old daughter Vayda in the tent. Oh yes, Vayda likes to hang out in the tent now and again as well, and she will invite anyone who will play with her. EVEN Noodles! Vayda barelty fits, but she doesn’t care! Sometimes her and mattie lay in it with their feet pocking out the door, and watch TV together. It’s super cute, I love sisterly love! See I told you, never a dull moment!
The KidCo PeaPod Plus Travel Tent ROCKS! The travel tent is awesome too! I highly recommend this product for your little bundle of joy. Even if you don’t do a lot of traveling doesn’t mean you cannot have a KidCo Travel Tent. They are loads of fun, even for your adventures around the house. I wish I would have had this when Mattie was younger too, I would have loved to had this for her to sleep in while we were traveling. I also think she would have enjoyed playing in it when she wasn’t so mobile. I”m going to keep this in mind for our next little one… Yes, fingers crossed this mommy will be a mommy to be again soon! Which means more KidCo products for our house!
