We Support Together Counts, Do You?

Blah Blah's Good Disclosure

Fall’s the perfect time to spend time with the family, and experience epic outdoor adventures.  One of my favorite fall adventures is traveling.  The children are in school so lengthy vacations are not possible, but jumping in the car and heading to the mountains for a hike and picnic surely isn’t.  It’s something we try to do at least once a month, we love spending time in nature together talking,  laughing, smelling the great outdoors, and getting exercise.

Another special activity I enjoy doing with my children is evening walks in the fall and spring.  It’s the perfect temperature to be outside.  My toddler is now old enough to go with us, talk and have fun.  It’s so awesome, walking, talking, enjoying each others company, and watching nature change daily.  There’s several trees we pay attention to, it’s absolutely amazing how quickly they change.

The leaves change from green to beautiful reds, orange and yellows.  As the days pass we watch the leaves slowly fall from the tress.  The other day we had a nice burst of wind, guess what most of the leaves are gone.  It’s absolutely amazing how fast fall happens, it often reminds me to cherish these times I spend walking with my children.  Every day that we walk by and the fall takes over, my children have grown another day.

Falls not only a time to enjoy the perfect temperature, walks in the park, but it often reminds me that as fast as fall takes over my children grow older.  It reminds me to cherish my family, keep them healthy and keep out our little family walks.

When I was asked to take part in Together Counts, I didn’t even have to think about it.  Help promote a nationwide program that’s dedicated to inspiring active and healthy living.  No questions asked, this is something I am proud to be part of.  It’s important to not only balance the calories we eat with the calories we burn, but our children too.

I’ve been guilty of being tired from a long day, coming home and tossing something into the oven for my children, because it’s easy.  It’s something I haven’t done in a long time, it’s important for families to be healthy and balance calories taken in with the calories we burn.

It’s important for healthy living to start at home and continue in school.  Energy balance is the key to wellness.  If you visit the Together Counts you can find some great information, activities and more.  Be sure to head on over and check it out.
