What’s orange, furry, fun, and uberly the most adorable educational toy you’ll ever meet? It’s Ubooly! Ubooly is the The Smart Toy®. Ubooly talks, but he also listens. He is customizable to even learn your child’s name. Ubooly teaches lessons, many with experiments, and he does so much more. He will quickly become your child’s new best friend.
When I received Ubooly, I told my nieces about him coming and they were thrilled. They couldn’t wait to meet him. Ubooly comes with his own iPhone app. You simply download the app to your phone and when you put your phone into Ubooly, he comes alive.
Here you see Ubooly with glasses. My nieces thought it was quite funny to make him look like Auntie Jeni as I wear glasses too. Ubooly is very customizable. You can enter your children’s names and he then is able to say their names when he is playing with them. Also, as you can see by him wearing glasses, you can change his face and hair too.
Ubooly tells stories and jokes. Say, what do you call a cow who mows your lawn? A lawn-moo-er, hee-hee-hee. He also takes you on adventures using lots of imagination. One time he asked Rainbow to get a pair of slippers. From there, she went canoeing, played tennis, and even talked to people far away.
Ubooly plays a little music when he wants to boogie down. Here he suggested that my nieces shake their fingers in time with the music.
Ubooly has his own lab. From here you login and can add different lessons to Ubooly for your child to learn. Rosebud decided she wanted to learn about the Oceans. Ubooly started off by telling her some statistics like that 2/3’s of the Earth is covered in water. He then continued to talk about how salty oceans are. This was a great lead-in for the experiment Ubooly was going to have her do.
Ubooly told Rosebud what she would need to gather in order to do the experiment. He did preface to have an adult’s permission and help to do this too. We needed to gather two glasses, water, salt, a tablespoon, and two raw eggs.
This experiment was to show why things float in the ocean. It’s because of the amount of salt in the water. The salt affects the density of things. Ubooly asked us to fill each glass halfway with warm water, add a specific amount of salt to one, and then carefully add an egg to each glass.
The egg in water only is on the left, while the egg in saltwater is on the right. As you can see, that one is floating. Rosebud was completely amazed. I have to admit too, that even though I knew what would happen, it still was quite neat to see and participate in. Thanks Ubooly! *Please note we used Ubooly in his box, meaning directly via the app on my iPhone versus in his furry body. Ubooly is versatile in this way. Ubooly’s box or house is another feature of the app. Playing with him here allows your child to collect coins. These coins allow you to feed Ubooly and also to buy him accessories for his home. Both of my nieces very much enjoyed this feature as well.
As you can see my nieces beyond enjoyed Ubooly. He is their new best friend. Not only is he completely fun, but he is educational. They enjoyed sitting with him and hearing him talk, asking them questions, and when he needed a little break, he would make a goofy raspberry type gibberish noise while he shook things off.
