Starting Week 2 Progressive Snapshot | #TrySnapshot

Blah Blah's Good Disclosure

snapshot, snapshot discount, snapshot device, usage-based insurance program, snapshot driving details, car insurance, auto insurance, car insurance discount, auto insurance discount, car insurance quote, auto insurance quote It’s going on week number two, yes already been a whole week since I joined Team Flo and began test driving Progressives Snaphot!  WOW, where does the time go!  So anyway, what do I think? HUMMM, lets see here according to Progressive, I am eligible to save 30% on my current policy, WHAT!!!!!  Yes, but can I keep this calm good Jenn driving up any longer, lol!  Yes, the only time I am a bad driver is when Shawn makes me so mad I have to leave the house!  In that case, pretty sure there are rocks hitting the side of the house and neighbors coming to watch me look like a complete moron as I try to peel out going 4 miles an hour, hahah!  OMG, probably shouldn’t say that on here, well surly at 4 miles an hour you can avoid hitting a squirrel and really children shouldn’t be in the street anyway right, lol.

I wanted to share a Snapshot of my Snapshot savings, now this just keeps getting more and more crazy sounding right!  What can you expect when the non-helmet hair queen Flo is involved…  By the way, I am trying so hard to win because I must know what her secret is and where to find the unicorns and glitter that she speaks of!  I have found Fairy Hobmother on all my blogs,  and I cannot find one unicorn with glitter!  Now that’s just not fair….

Okay, stop Jenn! (timeout)  ”Reminder to self, focus this is from Progressive, you don’t want them to think you are totally crazy, WAIT they deal with Flo daily so it’s okay.” (time in)

Now, back to this Snapshot, of Snapshot I wanted to share, here it is what do you think!

Okay so according to this wonderful screen, I just might be the best driver ever!  What, not only can this save you money but build some awesome self-esteem, right!  WOW, go Progressive and Flo.  I really do like to think I am a good drive, I am careful, don’t drive fast, no crazy stuff, after all I am a mother of 4 children and 99% of the time I have a child with me.  The last thing I would do is drive crazy!

These next two photos are Snapshots of the details screen.  This is where Progressive shows you what they are rating you on and how you are doing.  I will explain each one to you.  It’s actually a really awesome program, the more I get into it, the more I like it.  I think it’s great that an insurance company is going to base your rate off how you drive, not how you drove 4 year ago.  Let’s face it we all grow up.  The three sections on the above photo are:

  1. Hard Breaking – This tells me and Progressive that I am fabulous at breaking, yes see its the mom in me!  No hard breaking, it’s always a nice slow steady pace for this driver.   It page also three offers fabulous tips to help you score higher, such as:  ”Take care of things like choosing a radio station and programming your GPS before you pull into traffic, so you can focus solely on driving.”
  2. Rapid Accelerations – This tells me and Progressive that my rating is excellent.  I don’t pass people and act all crazy, you know those people who follow right on your hind end, then speed up all crazy to pass.  Yes, I am not one of those drives.  I pay attention to lights, stop signs and cars in front of me.  Here again we are offered three valuable tips to help us become better drives and know what Progressive is looking for, such as: “Having an excellent rapid acceleration score keeps your engine and transmission running smoothly—and conserves fuel. Cha-ching!”
  3. Total Mileage -  This tells me and Progressive that I may be driving a bit too much.  I am rated in between low and medium on their ranking system.  I do drive a bit much, I have 4 children and work.  I am also guilty of a cruise after work, hey it calms my nervous before I come home to 4 children yelling, “mom” right when I walk in the door.  They also provide 3 valuable tips here to help keep the mileage down, not only for your insurance rate but to save on your vehicle too.  One of the tips is, “Having an excellent mileage score—and using cruise control whenever possible on highways—helps conserve fuel. Easy savings!”

The above information is what Progressive uses to rate you as a driver.  I honestly thought there would be more to it, but when you think about it, that’s what you need to be rated on.  If you are not driving a whole lot, you are less likely to be in any type of accident.  If you are not using rapid acceleration you’re probably driving safely and aware of your surrounds.  If you’re not being hard on your breaks, you’re probably paying attention to the road around you, such as stop signs, lights, cars, children, animals, etc.

Progressive’s Snapshot gadget really is simple, all you have to do is plug it in and go.  They take care of the rest, get email updates about your driving and potential savings.

After thinking about their rating system, really its simple drive the right way and your insurance rate will go down.  According to the above report, if I keep up the good work I can look forward to a 30% savings.  I have one week down with Team Flo, and so far I have to say I give them Three Thumbs Up, yea I know!  Only have two tumbs!  Jenn’s Blah Blah Blog gives Progressives Snapshot Two Thumbs up heading into week number two!

jennsblahblahblog crazy face

Keep following along, to learn more about this awesome program.  Will I keep my 30% savings, or break hard, accelerate fast, and drive too much?  Will Jenn’s Blah Blah Blog be able to maintain her 30% savings?  Or will she unleash the madness and break hard, accelerate fast, drive too much, and end up owing Progressive more money because they now know she is a horrible driver? Be sure to come back next week to find out!

Remember when you try Snapshot you are not obligated to anything, you do not have to change insurance companies, nor pay anything.  You are simply test driving, finding out where the best place for you is, where you will save the most money, and be the happiest!  We all love to save money, right?  Why not give it a try!!!

  1. Mmh. I was always not at all interested in Snap Shot because I thought it tracked your speed (and I would rather speed than pay less, haha). But if it just tracks rapid acceleration and hard breaking, I don’t do either of those things.
Of course, right now I don’t even have a car of my own. Haha.

    • Sarah you are so funny, nope i was surprised too! so far anyway maybe that’s something they toss in the 3rd week without telling us lol!
