Premama Prenatal Vitamin Drink Mix Review

Blah Blah's Good Disclosure

premama prenatal vitamin mixWhen most women are planning or expecting a little one, the most important thing is taking care and staying as healthy as possible.  When you visit the doctor one of the first things they do is place you on some type of prenatal vitamin.  However I have known plenty of women that could not take a prenatal vitamin, they are very hard on ones tummy.  I had to take a Flintstones vitamin for the first 4 month of my pregnancy, if I tried to take one of my prenatal vitamin I would get a horrible stomach ache.  Since Premama Prenatal Drink Mix is 100% natural, only 6 calories, easy to mix, flavorless, complete with all the prenatal vitamins that help reduce chances of birth defects, and help relive constipation and nausea.

I was excited when I found out that you can begin to take Premama Prenatal Drink Mix while you’re trying to conceive, it’s actually recommended.  I remember when I was pregnant with my daughter I was too sick in the beginning to take a prenatal vitamin, and to be honest I’ve never been able to take them without feeling some type of nausea.  For the first 4 months I could only eat watermelon and drink juices.  Don’t get me wrong, I would try to eat normal food now and again, but I cannot remember one time I was successful at keeping it down.  Being pregnant is hard work and in the end it’s so worth it, but for many of us it’s horrible during the beginning and end.  Which is why I’m so excited to learn about Premama and their prenatal drink mix.

Premama make a prenatal vitamin drink mix that you can mix with just about anything.  Premama is nut-free, gluten-free, shellfish-free, tree nut=free, and contains all the key nutrients and other to help moms with nausea and digestive relief such as:

  • DHA – Support fetal cognitive development and postpartum depression.
  • Folic Acid – Reduce the risk of some birth defects by up to 70%.
  • Ginger Root – Helps to reduce nausea
  • B6 – Who doesn’t’ need more energy?
  • Biotin – May help support embryo growth
  • Coenzyme Q10 – May help protect against preeclampsia
  • Choline – Used with folic acid to help protect against neural tube defects.
  • You can also find Magnesium, Iron, Calcium, and more.

It’s best mixed with your favorite juice, fruit beverage, ice tea, milk, and you can take it with water.  I don’t recommend taking it with water, unless you like the taste of ginger.  Premama is not to be mixed with soda or any hot beverage.  It’s best taken when one is trying to conceive, during pregnancy, and while you’re breastfeeding.  Some doctors and organization suggest that women ages 15 – 50 should take prenatal supplements daily.   Making it is super easy, open the package, pour into 12oz of liquid, shake/stir, and enjoy.

My husband and I have been tossing around the idea of having another child.  I know, I know, that’s a whole lot of kids running around.  However, why not?!?!  If we’re able and willing, and feel we have enough love and support for another child – why wouldn’t we have one?  I have only had one of my own children, and being around all these darn pregnant ladies is giving me some serious baby fever.  It seems as if all of my friends are pregnant.

I honestly wasn’t going to hold this in-home-party, but one of my friends begged me too.  Nothing against Premama Prenatal Vitamin Drink Mix, but I already want another kid so bad, having all these soon to be moms in my home just made it worse.  One of my good friends really wanted to try Premama Prenatal Vitamin Drink Mix.  So I decided it might be a little fun, ya know all the girls together.  They drink Prenatal Vitamin Drink Mix while I drink Vodka, sit in the corner and cry because they’re knocked up and I’m not.  No, not really it was a blast.  I am truly happy for all my wonderful friends, and was excited to have the opportunity to do this for them.

So everyone came over on Sunday afternoon.  So when we got to my house, we made the kids go play outside, dad ran and hid outside with the kids. While the girls watched a chick flick and sipped on some Premama Prenatal Vitamin Drink Mix.  Needless to say the kids didn’t stay outside, they never do when you have something to do.  So what we planned on doing, turned into playing with the kids and them asking if they could try some of our juice.  It honestly probably turned out better with the kids running around, it’s part of being mom anyway.

Premama sent me all kinds of awesome stuff for the party, such as:

  • 5 boxes of Premama Prenatal Vitamin Drink Mix
  • Beverage Pitcher
  • Discount Codes for my buddies
  • Themed games and activities
  • Easy-to-make recipes

For the party I wanted to get several different drinks to try Premama Prenatal Vitamin Drink Mix with.  So I purchased Orange Juice, Crystal Light, Tea, I made some yummy punch for the party, I know one of my friends cannot drink much of anything other than Power Aid – so I was sure to pick that up as well.  We played a fun game called “Blind Beverage Taste Test.”  Which is played exactly how it sounds, I blindfolded my wonderful friends and had them tell me what the drink was. It was a whole lot of fun, and I learned that my sister-n-law does not know what Power Aid tastes like.  I also learned that it’s a whole lot more fun to spin your children in circles and get them super dizzy with a blindfold on, lol.  Everyone else was able to guess the kinds of juice, lol.  Don’t worry the kids didn’t drink any of the juice with the prenatal vitamin mix.  I was surprised that Premama didn’t change the taste of the drinks, I couldn’t hardly tell it was in there.  I had a couple more games planned, but the girls really wanted to watch a chick flick.  It had been a long time since we had all been together, without husband and children.

WP_20130221_009 (2)Everyone agreed that you could hardly taste the prenatal drink mix, I was rather curious how it would affect Madison.  She’s been having problems with normal Prenatal Vitamins and her doctor told her to try Premama.  Let’s just say that Madison is taking Premama every morning with her glass of Orange Juice.  She said is easy on her stomach, and she is happy she is actually able to take something other than Flintstones vitamins.  Normally when I take a prenatal vitamin I feel it in my stomach, I get that sick feeling, and just know that I shouldn’t have done that.  They are just too strong or something, but they have always made me feel uneasy.

If you’re expecting or thinking about having a little one give Premama Prenatal Vitamins Mix a try, I think you’ll find it works well without the yucky tummy feeling normal prenatal vitamins are known to cause.   You can learn more about Premama and their fabulous products on their Website and Follow them on Facebook.

Caring for yourself during pregnancy is important for a healthy baby.

  3. This is really great. Vitamins are always best n a form that digests quicker like chewables and even better a powder drink mix.

  4. Wednesday Stein-Stanley says:

I wish they had these when I had been pregnant with my 1st three kids. I couldn’t take prenatal vitamens because they literally made me sick with the fish oil. Since I’m alergic to anything with fish oil, seafood, fish.

Although by the time I was pregnant with my 4th child they had come out with a new prenatal vitamen that didn’t contain fish oil and I could take it. Although the down side to this pill it was a huge horse pill.

  8. I agree. The time to take care of yourself isn’t when you find out you’re pregnant. Start before you conceive.

  9. My daughter is expecting baby Novalee in July. She had a terrible time the first 4 months getting down her prenatal’s. I wish we knew about this! After reading, I also see that it is great for me too. We will have to try this.

  10. Sounds like a great alternative to conventional pre-natal vitamins! I never had a problem with the regular ones, but I know other women who did, so this product would have been great for them.
