I had tears rolling down my face the entire video!

by Jenn

Many of you know that my son has cerebral palsy and is wheelchair bound. I ran into this video, and wanted to just say that this family is amazing! This is the most touching video I think I have ever watched, and I wish all of them all the happiness and joy in the world.
I watched this video, and wow tears rolling down my face. It’s a must watch, and I highly recommend learning a little about Lacey and her amazing family! It’s very inspirational, filled with unconditional love, faith, and spirit.

I was reading a little on Lacey’s blog, and my heart really goes out for her. She’s such a strong women, with such an amazing family. She talks a lot about bullying, which leaves me with one question. How in the world could anyone say anything rude or hateful to a handsome young man like Christian? I mean really, say she should have never had him. What kind of person does it take to even think to say something so heartless about a wonderful little boy? I mean seriously, it’s sick and it’s wrong.

It’s sad that people don’t take the time to get to know special children, they change your life. I know our son Bud has changed mine.  Special needs children have had to deal with more than any of any of these people making rude remarks can imagine.  They truly are special!  They are living breathing people, with feelings, an amazing personality, and bigger heart than anyone I know.  It really upsets me that there is people, grown adults out there that would actually have anything rude to say about a child… WOW, this is bullying to a whole nother level!

If these people with the rude comments actually took a few seconds to actually get to know Christian, rather than bash his family, they would probably see something totally different.  I admire Christian’s parents for standing up for what is right, and teaching him to be proud!

I don’t know about these people with rude remarks, but I was taught at a very young age that if I did not have anything nice to say to keep my mouth shut.

Wow, this story is so touching. I can sort of relate to christian because I have health issues myself, but I don’t think I’ve had to deal with this kind of scrutiny and judgement. In my experience, those that are considered special need, have always been the most amazing, brilliant and inspirational humans I have ever met.. They should not be defined by their condition but as humans who are wonderful for being just they way they are. People really need more empathy these days.

Ari I agree 100% people need to stop and really get a life… I mean I just don’t understand how anyone can say anything hateful about another persons life, much less a helpfull beautiful baby! I love the way you said it, people do need to look at people as poeple!

I didn’t know your son has CP.. So does my daughter. It was a very difficult diagnosis – started the developmental delays, etc… you know the drill. She seemed normal at birth – her APGARS were 8 and 8. After a while, though, I noticed something was wrong. I got the usual pediatrician BS about how “you’re just a first time nervous mom, every kid is different, blah, blah, blah. But I KNEW a child should be at least making an attempt to turn over by the age of 9 months, right? Anyway………she had all different symptoms – some from disease A, some from syndrome B, etc. What an effing nightmare. It’s a long (and still VERY bitter) story, but my then-husband kept telling me”YOU were her incubator for 9 months, it’s YOUR fault”. Whatever. PS, she is 33 years 9old now, and I STILL feel that I was to blame. I hope your experience has been very different. Whew! Thanks for listening to me rant and whine!!

OMG, WOW IT’S NOT YOUR FAULT! You know the way I look at it is my son is blessed just the same as we are! I honestly didn’t have him he is my stepson.. his mother smoked with him among other things… When my husband and I got together many years ago, Bud was living with his mother… Two weeks before we got married BAM she gets busted with drugs Bud and his sister are placed in our home. I had never changed a diaper before Bud, he was 5 then… It’s was life changing, his mother passed away two mothers after the kids were placed in our care. I love him like he is my son, he’s amazing, it took a while for him to warm up to me, but now we are good pals. We play video games, and he loves techy stuff like me so we have a lot in common… Since I have been staying home we have become more and more close, and he’s just amazing. Girl it’s not your fault, not at all…. we don’t knwo why these things happen and they are hard, but your daughter is blessed to have you! My experiance was really stressful at the start, I didn’t know anything about kids much less special needs, my husband worked 24 on 24 off, I was really scared I was going to hurt him, or do something I shouldnt… once I learned to stop, and just calm the hell down things went smooth… It’s scary, but getting to now him and his corky personality has been the biggest blessing every! Hey feel free to email me if you ever want to chit chat…. I might like to pick your brain if you don’t mind… we have hell getting bud the help that he needs, and I always love taking to theor moms we can help one another out sooo much!

Powerful video. People can be so rude when they dont fully understand.. Not everyone would abort their child if he or she wasnt perfect in every way. Sometime people that are pretty on the outside are so ugly on the inside and visa versa Sometime those that dont look normal to most people on the outside are more beautiful on the inside than others

AGREED, there are plenty of people who look great but have evil hearts… Its sad that these people are too shallow to focus on what matters..

I agree with you wholeheartly, people should keep their nasty comments to themselves and as I always say, do not criticize me, but walk a mile in my shoes. Very strong family, wonderful young man.

AMAZING!! Christian was blessed with beautiful parents!! You too Jenn are a wonderful blessed mother. When I meet new people like you I ask myself…”Where would we be in this world today if it wasn’t for parents like you with loving, caring, nurturing hearts!!”
