Can you belive it’s already time to start considering the flu vaccine for you and your family. Every year my family receives their flu shot. In my opinion it is not worth chasing what might happen if they do not get vaccinated.
If you are a regular reader of Jenns Blah Blah Blog you already know I have 4 kids, and 3 of them are in school. Like many kids they are all in some type of activity such as; dance, volleyball, rodeos, and whatever else is in season that they are interested in being part of. I want my kids to experience different activities, I worry about germs, and my kids catching a cold. I encourage good hygiene, hand washing, keeping hands to yourself, no sharing of personal, and of course staying up to date with immunizations. When you think about immunizations what is the first things that comes to mind? Are you currently up to date on your immunizations?
My husband and I teach our children to dream big, and work hard for what they want. I want to do everything I can to be sure I am healthy so I am able to watch my kids make their dreams come true. Whether it’s making the A/B honor roll, getting their room clean, or getting a scholarship to college – I want to be there, and be healthy. I don’t want to miss morning hugs and kisses, dance recitals, volleyball games, holidays, or anything else because I put off receiving a vaccination – it’s not worth it
My husband and I have received our flu shot at Walgreens for the last few years, but as far as other immunizations we visit our local doctor. I admit it’s not something I look forward to. I don’t want to sit in the doctor’s office waiting room for an hour, but I do it because I want to be healthy for my family. I want to do everything in my power to protect myself and my family from illness. Receiving much-needed vaccines is an easy way to take a step to a happy and healthy life. !
Lucky for us, now we don’t need to visit your doctor’s office to received vaccinations. You can get them on your next visit to your local Walgreens. I knew that Walgreens offered the flu vaccine, but was surprised to learn about all the different immunizations they carry. They offer immunizations such as the flu vaccine, shingles vaccine, Hpc vaccine, hepatitis vaccine, Tetanus, Diphtheria, Pertussis/Whooping Cough (Tdap) vaccines are available for walk-ins, no appointment is necessary.
I am really excited about being able to get an immunization at Walgreens, its super convenient, and now my husband and I do not need to schedule a doctor’s appointment. Rather than making a doctor appointment, trying to find a babysitter, and sitting in the waiting room I can swing by the Walgreen pharmacy on my next visit. I do not even need to worry about making an appointment.
When you visit your local Walgreens Pharmacy for your immunization your Walgreens pharmacist will make personalized vaccine recommendations for you, then bill your insurance company, and work with your primary care provider to be sure they have all the necessary information on file.
Getting your flu shot, or any other immunization at Walgreens does more than make your things more convenient. Walgreens is stepping up, and lending a much-needed hand with their Get a Shot Give a Shot campaign. Now you can help a child, and get your immunizations. From now until October 14, 2013 when you get your flu shot, or any other immunization from Walgreens or Healthcare Clinic they will provide a life-saving vaccine through the United Nations Foundation’s Shot@Life Campaign.
Did you know that 1 in 5 children still do have access to lifesaving immunizations that keep them healthy? The Shot@Life campaign helps to educate, connect and empower Americans to help children in developing countries from vaccine-preventable disease. They are planning to supply up to 3 million vaccines to children that need them, and that’s something I want to contribute to.
By taking part in this campaign you are getting your much-needed vaccinations, and helping to save a child’s life every 20 seconds. I know where I will be getting my flu vaccine, as well as any others I need this year – Walgreens. I want to help save a child’s life! Whether you need travel immunizations, or your yearly flu shot, be sure to visit your local Walgreens and help save a child’s life.
This year I am getting my flu vaccine at Walgreens and giving a child a shot at making dreams come true! What would you give a child a shot at? Fill in the blank: I am giving a child a shot at _________________________.
