Blah Blah's Good Disclosure

Five Activities That Will Get you Ready for SummerSpring is here and summer soon to follow, before we know it we will be enjoying those warm summer days and awesome summer nights.  It’s time to prepare because soon the days will be filled with people traveling, kids out for school, and summer activities.  Have you began planning your summer fun?  While it’s always a good idea to plan for summer activities such as vacations, routine outings, and activities to keep the kids from going stir crazy, it’s also a good idea to leave some time for relaxing.   Here’s a few things to help you get a jump start on summer.

Budget
It’s always a good idea to prepare by knowing your budget, things you can afford and cannot afford.  With school out for summer it’s likely you’ll be saving money in some areas, but spending more on items such as food and fun.  Knowing your limits is important when planning weekly routine outings, vacations, and all other summer activities.

Relax
Next on the list, relax.  Stress isn’t any fun being on the go, traveling, being taxi mom, and stay home with children all summer can become stressful.  It’s important to plan to set a little time aside for yourself to relax and enjoy everything summer has to offer.  Whether you plan for the kids to attend a weekly activity so you have a few hours alone, or you get a sitter now and again.  You can also trade-off movie or play dates with other moms so you’re helping one another get some relaxing time, and giving the kids time to play.  It’s always a good idea to figure out a way to enjoy some “me time” during the busy season.

Organize
There’s still time to get organized   If you’re children’s rooms are anything like my children’s, they’re messy and probably have plenty of toys they no longer play with or that are broken.  You can help get the clutter under control by starting to organized now, take advantage of the kids being in school.  Take some time and go through your children’s toys while they’re away at school.  Pack up everything they’re no longer using and pass it along to a friend or donate it.  Create a few play areas in your home let your children know those areas are for play.  I’m sure you don’t want your entire house to turn into a war zone.

Flexibility

One of the best ways to avoid stress is to remain flexible   It takes time to get used to your children being home from school, and having a new routine.  It’s something that both your and your children need to get used to.  While there is extra messes around the house, and you’re probably going to need to visit the store more , take a second to remember that every day  that passes your children are getting older.  Cherish these times, remain flexible and enjoy the time you have with them.  So many parents are not able to be home with ther children for the summer.  Count your blessings you’re able to watch them grow, and spend quality time with them

Chores
While I agree out children should enjoy their time off from school, but it’s not a time to toss responsibility out the window and leave everything up to the adults.  Creating chores for your children, helps keep routine in their life.  Children still need some form of routine, and responsibilities   Besides, if they’re going to spend more time at home, they should spend time helping clean up.

There’s so much to look forward to about summer and spending time with your children.  Start planning now to help you avoid become stressed.  Do the best you can now to ensure you will enjoy quality time with your children this summer.

What are some things you do with your children during the summer to keep them busy?
