Happy World Pasta Day! Grab your favorite pasta, a seat and let’s have some fun! My family is excited to be part of this awesome celebration. Barilla Celebrates World Pasta Day! Pasta is a family favorite in our home. Not only because it allows you to cook at fast, fresh, good meal! There are thousands of choices when you plan dinner with Barilla Pasta! Living in a home with five other people, it can be challenging finding something to cook for dinner that everyone agrees on. That’s one of the great things about Barilla, they allow us to all sit down and enjoy a dinner that we all like together as a family.
Do you find mulch-tasking has become a way of life? Does having a long to-do list cut into meal time? Why do you think it is important for everyone to all sit down for a family meal?
Mulch-tasking has become a way of life for my husband and myself. With four children and both of us working full-time there’s little time for planning, and taking life one step at a time. The moment we walk in the door from work, LET THE MULTI-TAKSING BEGIN. There’s homework to be done, dinner to be cooked, baths, hugs, kisses, time, talking, feeding the animals, and taking care of anything else that comes our way.
Check out these disturbing statistics about family dinner.
- Did you know that 88% of parents are reliant upon multi-tasking daily, and more than half (58%) say that life is more hectic now, than it was a year ago.
- While families are making dinner, two-in-give meal-prepares agree, it’s difficult t o find time to make dinner for their family.
- Parents often result to poor nutritional value (75%), and they miss out on family time at dinner time.
What’s getting in the way of spending quality time with your family? Is work, after school activities, homework, kids, baths, etc. getting in yur way of quality family time?
Here’s some other great statistics about pasta:
- Pasta is recognized by people as a tasty (88%( and easy (87%) meal. Pasta can be cooked using on-hand ingredients
The only time our family spends quality time together daily is by cooking a nice meal. Kids are often in and out of the kitchen while we’re cooking. My husband and I make it a point to cook dinner together, if time allows. Once dinner is done, it’s time for everything to begin to calm down. This is when the magic begins.
There’s nothing better than going all day long, coming home being on the go, then sitting down for a calm relaxing dinner with the family. This is the way we guarantee our family spends some type of quality time together daily. Even if it’s only thirty minutes. It’s thirty minutes that we spend laughing and remembering how important one another are.
My family will spend time cooking together. Anytime we cook something new, once the cookbook is brought out, everyone wants to help. It’s special times for mom, there’s nothing better than everyone cutting our daily duties short to spend special time together. We always smile, laugh, and talk about ideas for our next creation. My oldest daughter is 14, the only time she comes out of her room to join the family willingly, is when we are creating something new. The reviews and campaigns that I take part in as a blogger are a sure way to get her off her phone, and with her family.
So what did we choose to cook? We got a little creative, with two meals.. We started out following the direction, but well, as I mentioned it’s what makes it so special. There’s no rules, only something to start with, the creation is the family brainstorming together. We always seem to come up with a wonderful meal for everyone (trying to please 6 people can be difficult at times). Making dinner with Barilla was awesome, there are thousands of possibilities for dinner.
We decided to make Spaghetti for dinner. It’s a dinner we can all agree on. None of us had ever tried Cacio e Pepe Spaghetti. There’s Parmesan cheese, check this out.
Cacio e Pepe Spaghetti
- 1/2 pound spaghetti
- 1/4 cup olive oil
- 1/4 cup Parmesan cheese (we add more, lol we love cheese)
- Salt and Pepper to taste
Sounds pretty yummy. It’s great, if you’re a family that loves spaghetti, than you’re going to have to try it. It’s yummy, and our favorite thing about using Barilla noodles for dinner – We know it’s going to be easy to cook, fast, and taste great!
We also made Barilla Tortellini Three Cheese and added some Spaghetti sauce to the top. First time we’ve ever attempted. It was amazing, and super easy. We spent more time looking at all the recipes than we did making dinner.
My family loves Barilla pasta, we’re picky about our pasta. Which is one of the reasons I was so excited to be part of this. It’s a product we already use, almost weekly. We love making dinner with Barilla, we know its going to be yummy, fresh, and quick so our family has more time in the evening.
Time together, isn’t something we get to much of. Most pasta recipes using Barilla allow us feed our children well, keep the junk food out of our diets, all 6 of us agree on dinner, doesn’t take long to cook, and it’s super easy. Anything that can allow us to spend extra quality time together get’s two thumbs up! Look here’s a picture of Catie, “Two Thumbs Up for Barilla Pasta!”
