15 Fantastic Reasons to Clean Out Clutter at Home!

by Jenn

Do you look for that special reason to clean out clutter?  I don’t mean the clutter everyone can see, I mean the spring cleaning clutter that nobody can see.  The items that are buried in the kids toy box, that special drawer you have to toss stuff in, and anywhere else you might hide clutter from youself.  Yes, those places!  You have those too right?  I hope I’m not the only one with hidden clutter.

There is nothing that I like more than a clean house.  When I say clean, I mean spotless.  Unfortunately with four kids, I don’t remember the last time my home was spotless, lol.  The last thing I want to do is spend my day digging in my kids toy box, but there comes that day.  For me it only happens twice, three times if I’m lucky a year; that you clean that hidden clutter.

My house is not dirty, but I think we all need to spring clean a few times a year.  It’s amazing how much stuff we accumulate, especially if we have kids.  I seriously do not know where half of this stuff comes from.  It’s almost like going shopping, I find all kinds of neat things when I clean out clutter.  The coolest thing I have ever found while cleaning was $800 that I lost about a year ago.  It actually worked out nicely, I needed them money lol.

I still don’t know where all this stuff comes from.  It’s like the little guy who takes the socks, takes the socks and leaves random stuff!  Either that or, I don’t know how it all ends up here.  It’s not me, it’s the kids and my husband!  Okay, sure I’m guilty it, but everything I keep can be fixed.  It might not get fixed, but it could be if I really wanted it fixed.  Haha…

I ran into this fun infographic: 15 Fantastic Reasons to Clean Out Clutter at Home, and thought I would share it.  If you’re like me, looking for a reason to get up off your bum and to clean out clutter in your home; here are 15 fun reasons to get started.

I cleaned out everything and through everything into a garbage bag, even my clothes, but I ended up put some of the clothes back into the closet. Had an argument with the hubby about clutter, which he can’t stand, got angry and threw away everything. Going to have a garage sell this week-end.

About 2 years ago I started an “online yard sale” group through FB. I have been clearing out the clutter evers ince—it is so empowering to not be “controlled” by the clutter and also to be able to make money selling it!

Your 15 reasons to clear out clutter are helpful. The one I relate to the most is that we can decrease stress if we would declutter.. I don’t feel like I have a lot of stress in my life, but evidently we don’t have to recognize it to suffer symptoms of it. I want to eliminate as much stress as I can & when it comes to clutter, I can choose to throw away, give away & put away enough that there will be a place for everything. Then it is up to me to make sure it gets to that place.

Clutter is my most difficult problem! It is true that if you have clutter, you cannot think properly. I don’t even have the excuse of blaming it on the kids. It is all me!

Living in a 1208 sq ft condo, I NEED to declutter at least once a year or we’ll be buried in all that accumulated stuff around us! Now that I’ve seen this fantastic infograph, I am more inspired that ever to clean out clutter!

Thanks Jenn!

Clutter is not quite the word for how I live. I am a boarder-line hoarder, along with my Mom and brother whom I live with. I am SO overwhelmed, I wouldn’t know where to begin! And it’s a small apartment. Gee……………
